Radio interview and £500 to the hospice!

I was delighted to be invited back on to Lesley Dolphin’s show on BBC Radio Suffolk on Wednesday, to talk about my new book In Our Hearts. Once we got rid of the gremlins on the phone line, we had a good chat about the inspiration for the book and the fact that all proceeds are going to St Elizabeth Hospice. I was proud to announce that we have already raised £500 for the hospice. You can listen to the interview below:

Happy advent to you all

Very pleased to tell you that my new book “In Our Hearts” is now published. The book, my eighth, is a collection of my poetry, with introductions to every poem, together with many photographs, drawings and paintings.

The book costs £7.50 and the entire amount I am donating to the St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich for their wonderful work.

A visit to the new Treehouse and a milestone reached.

It’s been a few weeks since I updated my blog. Everything has been so busy. I am happy to say Pete and I visited the new Treehouse hospice last week for a look around. It is absolutely fantastic!! Several of us were shown around this incredible building, so much thought and attention to detail has gone into planning the new children’s hospice. My donations from my book ALWAYS A HERO have been continuing and I have now given £1425 to this very worthy cause.

Haven’t done much writing recently and I know I must get back to it. I have been working away on campaign work for Fairtrade and also talking to our local MP with two friends about those suffering because of poverty across our world. We feel the pressure needs to be kept on our government to do all they can to help those struggling every day with such huge basic needs. My MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY band still remains on my wrist; it reminds me there is still much to do if we are to meet the Millennium Development Goals by 2015.

I reached a bit of a milestone today, my books have now raised over £4000 in total for the charities I have been supporting since my 1st book was published 10 years ago. This has made me smile!!

Happy New Year

More books sold and another £100 is sent to The Treehouse Appeal, am very happy with this – thanks to everyone who has supported my vision to help this worthy cause. I have also received an invitation to look around the new hospice building in February!

£1000 for Treehouse now reached – THANK YOU

Very excited to say my book ALWAYS A HERO has now raised £1000 for The Treehouse Appeal.

Another donation today…
